Red Ribbon Club

KB DAV-7 RED RIBBION CLUB launched by the First Lady Mrs. Jean Rodrigues on JULY 25, 2006

Principal Madhu Bahl, a certified Master Trainer for AEP Programme took “The First Step” wherein she launched the City Beautiful’s first Red Ribbon Club to promote awareness among youth for HIV-AIDS. Inaugurated by the August hands of the then First Lady, Mrs. Jean Rodrigues, the club has taken initiatives to sensitize the school children about crucial health issues and raised awareness about how their conduct requires the requisite reasoning and fore-thought every time they act.

The objective of the KBDAV Red Ribbon Club is to provide correct information on HIV-AIDS and to reduce the spread of the disease, which can have a heavy impact on the Indian economy.  This can be achieved by imparting proper education on sex, sexuality and HIV-AIDS by acquiring new skills on communication, self-protection, care, support and effective group interaction.

The school students are updated through workshops and documentaries about the current trends and the important need to maintain healthy life styles. The club continues to address the behavior, attitude and knowledge-based queries of its young members, for it strongly believes that support and effective group interactions are the keys to its success. Principal Madhu Bahl encourages several debate / declamation competitions, essay writing competitions, dramas, poem recitation competitions and skits to create awareness among her school children.
