“VAISHNAVI GUPTA”, A STUDENT OF KBDAV-7 CHANDIGARH CREATES HISTORY BY MAKING “GUINNESS WORLD RECORD” in HULA HOOP

With 5 world records in her kitty, 8 years old Vaishnavi Gupta, a student of class 3, KB DAV Sr. Sec. Public School, Chandigarh makes India proud with Prestigious Guinness World Record by being the youngest girl to climb 50 stairs while HULA HOOPING in fastest time of 14.84 seconds.

Vaishnavi Gupta, receives the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD Certificate (attached herewith) officially on 5th Jan’2022. Her parents, School Principal, teachers and friends are elated and feel proud of her sterling achievement at the international level.

From time to time, State Govt. Haryana has recognized the talent of “Vaishnavi “and have been honoring her for this achievement.

ON 13TH MAY’2021, Vaishnavi received TRIUMPHS WORLD RECORDS CERTIFICATE for rotating HULA HOOP around her knee, with 190 rotations in one minute.

ON 9TH JULY’2021, Vaishnavi Gupta made World Record of Excellence and was awarded by International Book of Records with a certificate for having completed 50 stairs run while moving HULA HOOP for 15 seconds.

ON 20TH MARCH’2021, Vaishnavi Gupta received another certificate from Triumph World Record for rotating 207 rotations in one minute.

Apart from being known as HULA HOOP GIRL, Vaishnavi made a record of FASTEST WORLD FLAG RECOGNITION and was given the certificate for amazing memory by TRIUMPH WORLD RECORD on 10th Sep’2019. She identified 200 flags of countries of world and its capitals in 117 seconds.

ON DEC’9’ 2019, Vaishnavi was honored by Chief Minister, Haryana, H’ble Manohar Lal Khattar ji who appreciated the young talent of Vaishnavi known as “Google Girl” being emerged as HULA HOOP girl.

Recently, Vaishnavi’s talent has been recognized by “Haryana State Commission for Women” and “IDBI Bank “who have honored her for this unique potential of hers.

“Vaishnavi “is an exceptional child who keeps a perfect balance between academics, sports and curricular activities. We are proud of her and wish her a splendid future ahead.

Shubh Aarambh’ – Girls India Project on Ganesh Chaturthi at KB DAV-7

 On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi i.e 10th September 2021, KBDAV-7, Chandigarh launched ‘Girls India Mission’, a joint initiative of CCPCR, Education Department, Chandigarh Administration, Yuvsatta and Tricity Schools,  wherein KBDAV-7, Chandigarh joined hands with Government Senior Secondary School, Khudda Lahora, making them as ‘BUDDIES’ for their future endeavours.

 Celebrations began with welcome speech by Mannat Chandan , President Girl INDIA project followed by “Ganesh Vandana”  to seek blessings from Lord GANESHA on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

 ‘GIRLS INDIA’ students known as ‘GIRLS PARLIAMENTARIANS’ were adorned with crowns and badges. Students of classes 6 and 7 put up a great show for the Buddy School with poem recitals, dance and presentations in order to bring change and alleviate this social malady of discrimination against Girls and Women in the society.

 All the girls were presented with a diary, pen and stickers with a promise to stay connected. There was an exchange of friendship bands by the buddy school girls from GSSS, Khudda Lahora.

 Principal Mrs. Pooja Prakash addressed the students, stating that this journey shall be one of self-discovery, friendship and will be based on respect for the others’ opinions and values. Problem solving will pave way for solutions and opportunities. The Buddies shall brainstorm about concerns on Health, Hygiene, Safety, Good, Employment and Environment.

 ‘GIRLS INDIA’ Project aims at Empowering Girls from within. In which Education is at the core with Senior students teaching the Junior ones, without teachers, in a unique and commendable way. The participating girls shall be connecting through mobile. They shall be interacting with each other on issues of Academic Interests and Girls’ Rights. So that a spirit of Camaraderie develops and they realize their true potential.

 The day ended with Oath Ceremony by all 30 Girl Parliamentarians of both Schools with a pledge to uplift and protect the Dignity of Girls and Women in schools and society.

 To carry forward the partnership, both Girl Parliamentarians are meeting virtually on Google Meet on 14th September 2021 to celebrate Hindi Diwas.

MISS INDIA MANIKA SHEOKAND WINS HEARTS WITH HER CORUSCATING CROWN AND SMILE

What a shimmering day it was! 17 February 2021 gets recorded in the history of KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector. 7–B, Chandigarh for welcoming back its alumna Miss Manika Sheokand, VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020 on its School Campus. The day was eagerly awaited by both sides. The arrival of Ms.Manika brought in with her that sparkle, that ebullience, that victorious smile of being THE MISS INDIA!

Ms. Manika was welcomed with bouquets, rose-buds, placards with her winning picture and a beautiful red tilak on her forehead. The media accompanying her, the glitter, the glamour-everything spoke of her stardom. She had been accompanied by her parents, brother and members of the family. She was taken to the B. S. Bahl hall, where she was welcomed with a bouquet, phulkari shawl and a memento. Gracing the occasion were dignitaries including Ms. Madhu Bahl, Founder-Principal of the school and Ms. Pooja Prakash, the school Principal, along with the Coordinators and teachers of the school who had taught her. A PPT presentation narrated her journey that started with her Alma Mater, and has taken a sojourn at the Miss Grand India 2020 Title. Ms. Manika had joined the School in her 7th Standard, and passed out of Class XII with 82.4% score in Science Stream.

VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020 spoke to the audience and went nostalgic about her school days, remembering how she had been mentored by each teacher, and how she had been a part of each School function, every year. She answered the queries of the eager students of the school, and said that the way to success is not that rosy as it seems. One has to work really hard to achieve one’s goals.

Ms. Madhu Bahl congratulated Manika, and said that the lion share of the credit for the success of Manika goes to her parents. Mrs. Pooja Prakash, in her vote of thanks wished Manika a huge success in her future endeavours, and congratulated her in her unmatched feat. She reiterated that as a KB DAV Alumna, Manika had brought glory to the DAV Fraternity, the City, her School and her Family.

MOST NUMBER OF HULA HOOP ROTATION AROUND KNEE

The COVID 19 Pandemic Lockdown could not contain the spirit of a Champion. Second Grade KBDAV-7 student Vaishanvi Gupta made the most of the lockdown period and rocked the World by performing a record breaking feat of ‘most number of Hula Hoop rotation around knee’.

On May 02, Vaishanvi performed World record of rotating Hula Hoop around her knee of 190 rotations in a minute. Her parent recorded the astounding performance. The Triumph World Records, adjudicated the performance and acknowledged the remarkable accomplishment of nine-year old Vaishnavi.

Triumph World Record, which has evolved to recognize the immense level of hidden talents of the people across the Globe, issued a certificate on May 13. 2020. Mukta Pratap, Chief Adjudicator, Triumph World Record registered the record on May 13th 2020.

KBDAV-7  Principal Mrs Pooja Prakash congratulated Vaishanvi for the record-breaking performance. “Vaishanvi has done the School proud".

Proud parents of Vaishanvi, said, “She made the most of the lockdown and didn’t give up once she set the target. We believe in what former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam said, “Great dreams of great dreamers always transcend.”

ANTI TOBACCO WORKSHOP FOR ADOLESCENT MINDS

An Anti-Tobacco Workshop was conducted at KB DAV-7 on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, to create Awareness among the students on the ill effects of Tobacco and Smoking.  It was conducted by Dr. Ikreet Singh Bal, Associate Professor at Dr.Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital and his interns Dr. Gurmeet Kaur, an Alumna of the School and Dr. Malvika Negi.

Dr. Bal briefed the students about the ill effects of tobacco in smoking, inhaling and chewing as well as on the various health hazards relating to smoke like smoke from Chullah, e- cigarettes, hookah etc. He also spoke about the impact on passive smokers. The team of doctors warned the students about the addiction of tobacco and attended to their queries about the various aspects of the topic. In the highly interactive workshop, the team outlined the various risk factors associated with tobacco consumption and interacted with the students to get their views. The purpose of the interaction was to elucidate the young students about the menace of tobacco consumption and make them alert about the prevailing threat.

KBDAV-7 HOLDS AN EDUCATIONAL SESSION FOR ADOLESCENT GIRLS

“Menarche – A landmark in the growth and development of an adolescent Girl”

A session was conducted at KBDAV-7 for girl students of Class VI, to IX by Dr. Mamta from “Global Hunt Foundation’ to build the knowledge of girls on the subject of mensuration. The session took around one and half an hour. The session entails a comprehensive understanding on the What, Why and How of Menarche develop a biological understanding.

 

The lecture stood for before and post session knowledge assessment in which the students were asked to answer some question before and after the session.

" A TRYST FOR VAISHNAVI GUPTA WITH HON’BLE CM, HARYANA "

Famously known as the ‘Google Girl’, Lady luck smiled on Kindergarten Vaishnavi Gupta of KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh, when she was invited to meet His Excellency Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana on 4th January 2019 at the Chief Minister’s residence for her extraordinatry capability of memorizing names of world capitals and many more. She has also had a rare honour of featuring on his personal Facebook page, where he has lauded her strengths and written that “Over the centuries the whole world has always saluted the remarkable intellect of Indian daughters. Vaishnavi Gupta, a Proud Indian Daughter will be a source of inspiration for others.” She was honored with flowers and a gift.

She has already been interviewed by 13 TV channels including News 18 India, News 18 Punjab, News 18 Haryana, News 18 Himachal and Zee News. Vaishnavi’s video showcasing her special abilities has already received 16 Lac views on You Tube. She wants to grow up into being an IAS officer and serve the nation.

KB DAV-7 in collaboration with G.C. Mishra Memorial Trust, Amar Ujjala organised Maa Samman Samaroh to honour Tricity Mothers, who have sacrificed the best part of their lives, whilst showering their priceless love on their children. The function graced by His Excellency, Shri. Shivraj V. Patil, Governor of The State of Punjab and Administrator of The Union Territory of Chandigarh, highlighted the perseverance, faith and unconditional love that a Mother has for her Children. Shri. H.R. Gandhar, Advisor To President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi also graced the occasion.
The School Children presented a fiery and flamboyant dance on Maa Durga, who is herself an embodiment of Power and Protectiveness. This was followed by a powerful stage performance, which encompassed a Daughter’s Love, which has the strength to retrench her Mother from the jaws of Death. This moved the audience to tears.

Principal Madhu Bahl is honoured at the hands of Padamshree Shri. G.P.
